On October 1, 2007 BLD International announced the acquisition of laboratory supply distributor PGC Scientifics from parent company Pelican Life Sciences. BLD Science, a division of BLD International, is a distributor of laboratory equipment and supplies as well as a service and calibration center supporting the laboratory market. By combining the strengths of these two companies BLD Science will be able to more effectively service the existing customers of both companies as well as introduce additional value added services to generate growth in the market.

BLD Science is an international supplier and service center for pharmaceutical, academic & science education, water treatment, environmental testing, healthcare clinical labs, private R&D labs, governmental research & testing facilities and more.

Originally started as a used and overstock dealer, BLD has transitioned away from used equipment and transformed into a full line scientific distributor representing some of the finest suppliers in the industry. These include Corning , Thermo Fisher Scientific, Cardinal Health, Biohit and many more. We believe in truly partnering with our suppliers to drive profitable growth for both BLD and the manufacturers who work with us.

For the past 12 months we have focused our energies not only on expanding our product portfolio and developing our customer base but on hiring the staff necessary to make our business successful. Our Sales, Marketing, Service and IT teams include many respected veterans from within the industry.

BLD believes in stocking the products that our customers need. Our commitment to this is evident in our investment in over 250,000 square feet of space in our distribution center. Our offices and distribution facilities are located just outside of the lucrative Research Triangle Park area. This convenient location allows us, when necessary, to offer same day delivery to our customers in and around RTP.

BLD uses a multi-channel sales approach centered on an established web presence. This is combined with inside and outside sales teams as well as targeted print advertising and direct mail. We are also frequently represented at both local and national tradeshows.
