Meet our Panelists 

 Christian Petrilli is Director of Channel Management at BRANDTECH® Scientific. He has been with BRANDTECH for 14 years, initially as Director of Marketing before taking on his current role.  Christian has expertise building brands, growing sales, and managing distribution channels in the business-to-business market. Prior to joining BRANDTECH Christian spent the bulk of his career marketing technical products in the B2B environment. In addition, he owned and operated his own business for several years. 

Jim Averso has been employed by as well as held equity in the New Jersey based family owned I.W. Tremont Corporation for 32+ years.  Having been mainly involved in Marketing and Sales as Vice-President, he along with his brother Andy have taken Co-Presidency roles in 2022 after the passing of the company founder, their Father Salvatore J. Averso.  Over the last 10 years Jim has expanded his role to include Product Development Lead and high-level contract manufacturing relationships.  Jim is approaching 20 years as an active ILDA member, as well as multi-term Board member.  He currently sits on other Scientific association boards and committees. 

I.W. Tremont is a manufacturer of porous and specialty materials primarily focused in the consumables category of laboratory filtration, separations, absorbent, safety and conveyance products.  Tremont has served the Laboratory Supply market primarily as a private label manufacturer and OEM.  In 2012 Tremont introduced the LabExact® brand of products to offer distributors a high quality, value focused alternative to other brands in the market.  Jim proudly exclaims that Tremont currently does business with virtually every distributor member of ILDA and truly values both the business and personal relationships he has built over the years.

Through a career working with leading laboratory product manufacturers and distributors, Jim Duffey has developed a strong knowledge of history and trends in the industry. He has served in a variety of roles including sales, marketing, operations, purchasing, and product development. In his current position at United Scientific, Jim and his team focus on strategic relationships, customer service, and marketing communications.

United Scientific is headquartered in Libertyville, Illinois, with corporate offices and warehouse operations in an 80,000 square foot facility. The company was founded in New Delhi, India in 1941, and established its U.S. presence in 1992. A third-generation minority and women-owned family business, United Scientific has an extensive selection of equipment and supplies for laboratory and industrial distributors. Products include glassware, plasticware, porcelain, liquid handling, and a wide range of laboratory hardware and supplies. United Scientific also manufactures products for use by science educators and students in K-16 schools.
